At their February meeting in Portland, the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife Commission will hold a public hearing to take testimony on their upcoming decision of whether or not to increase the protection status of this iconic Oregon seabird. Under current protections the Marbled Murrelet; which nests in old-growth and mature forests and forages at sea, continues to head towards extinction.

Folks who plan to testify to the ODFW Commission should arrive early (8 a.m.) to make sure they sign up on the list to testify. Alternatively, if you cannot make it at 8 a.m., you can email Stephanie Taylor (staylor@audubonportland.org) in advance who would be happy to sign you up to testify.

Where: Sheraton Portland Airport Hotel - 8235 NE Airport Way, Portland, OR 97220
