April 22 (Sun) 6:30am-2pm: Spring Migration on Gresham Buttes (Conservation focused)

Hop from Butte to Butte as we follow spring migrants as they touch down on protected habitat in Gresham and East Portland to refuel as they move north. It will be a great opportunity to catch the spring migration of several warbler species, and learn about the history of how these upland habitats were protected over the years.

The trip will stop at several natural areas, protected and maintained by Metro, the City of Gresham, and the City of Portland. There will be opportunities to explore these sites on short out and back hikes of moderate slope and distances, so please wear appropriate footwear. We will be stopping at a location with restrooms facilities for lunch around 11:30 AM, so please bring a water bottle and pack a lunch.

Meet at 6:30 am at the Gateway/NE 99th Ave TC Park & Ride; 1321 NE 99th Ave, Portland, 97220. We will be carpooling together in two Portland Audubon vans.

Leaders: Dan Van Den Broek and Micah Meskel
