Why volunteer with the Audubon Society of Portland?  The answer is easy and found in our Volunteer Vision and Value Statements:

Volunteers are the stewards of the natural world.
Volunteers make a difference.
Volunteers engage the community as contributors and learners.
Volunteers are valued.
Volunteers enjoy the diversity of wildlife, nature, and people.
Volunteering is fun and invigorating.

Come to a Volunteer Orientation to learn more about the Audubon Society of Portland and hear about the exciting benefits of volunteering.

NOTE:  There is a $20 fee that is payable at Orientation.  The fee covers your volunteer namebadge and t-shirt as well as a one-year membership in the Audubon Society of Portland ($25-$35 value).  Please bring cash or check to Orientation as we cannot take credit or debit cards at that time.  If this presents a financial hardship and would prevent you from volunteering, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator to arrange for a partial scholarship.

New volunteers will be asked to choose one of two Audubon volunteer options at Orientation:

Regular, on-grounds volunteer

Special Event volunteer

Regular, on-grounds volunteers are required to attend training on Tuesday, Feb 21, 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m OR Saturday, Feb 25, 9am-4:30pm.  This training will provide new volunteers with needed background information about Audubon, in general, including its sanctuary grounds and programs.  New volunteers will sign up for volunteer opportunities that interest them at the conclusion of this training.

Special Event volunteers are encouraged, but not required, to attend the above training.

Contact Deanna Sawtelle with questions at volunteercoordinator@audubonportland.org or 503-292-6855 ext. 108.
