Migratory Bird Protection Fund
Shooting of migratory birds is illegal. All native birds, ranging from robins to mallards to eagles, are protected by the Federal Migratory Bird Treaty Act. Our Wildlife Care Center has received dozens of illegally shot migratory birds and birds of prey including peregrine falcons and bald eagles. The Audubon Society of Portland has created a fund to provide rewards to people reporting illegal shooting of migratory birds in the Portland Metropolitan Area, which lead to a conviction.
