Bird-watching and cycling go great together on three rider-friendly routes
"The iridescent purple back of the barn swallow zips into view at pedal level -- challenging me to a race. I roll along the paved bike path and the bird cruises the adjacent grass. Together, we sweep forward for several seconds, then, tired of the slowpoke, the swallow shoots off."
