"The colorful sights and melodious sounds of birds are magical signals of summer, but unless we take action, that free-and-easy joy will be harder to find. Our distinctly still backyards won't signal summer; they'll signal the growing depletion of birds.

About 500 species of birds call Oregon home for at least a portion of their lives, with more than 200 species passing right through the Portland metropolitan area each year. The National Audubon Society has identified 54 species in Oregon as either "globally threatened" or "at risk of becoming globally threatened." Read More!
