Toyota gives new van to Audubon

By Jim Redden
Portland Tribune

The Audubon Society of Portland will soon receive the keys for a new Toyota Sienna van, courtesy of the car company.

Toyota chose the local wildlife organization for its nationwide 100 Cars for Good philanthropic program. It began last March with approximately 3,000 applicants for new Toyota vehicles. Most were submitted through social media messages from regional supporters. A review committee reviewed the applications and selected 100 national community service organizations to receive the new vehicles.

“We will use this new Toyota Sienna to transport injured wildlife to and from our Wildlife Care Center. It will be handy as a support vehicle for our classes, camps and outdoor trips that connect children and adults with nature – and it will transport our Education Birds to schools and community events,” said Audubon Development Director Ann Takamoto.
