Ruby the Turkey Vulture

Ruby was found near McMinnville, OR, reported as a tame Turkey Vulture. The Care Center staff determined that Ruby had probably been illegally taken from the wild as a baby and imprinted onto humans. As a result, Ruby cannot be returned to the wild and will remain at Audubon as an education bird to help people understand the beauty of vultures.

Turkey Vultures are nature’s recyclers, feeding mainly on dead things they find in the environment.
