Ways to Give
Donations, monthly giving, tribute gifts, sponsor a bird and more.
Your contribution supports our work in promoting the understanding, enjoyment and protection of native birds, other wildlife and their habitats. Together we will build a region where people and wildlife flourish together.
Monthly Giving: Be A Frequent Flyer
Make regular, monthly donations as a member of our Frequent Flyer Club. You will make monthly gifts through automatic bank or credit card withdrawals; these donations give Portland Audubon continued support and help balance our resources throughout the year.
You will receive just one gift acknowledgment in January reflecting your total giving for the year, for your tax purposes; your Frequent Flyer Membership can be suspended or stopped at any time with a phone call or email to our Membership Department. Join online or download a membership form and mail to: Membership Department, 5151 NW Cornell Road, Portland, OR 97210

Gift Tree Program
Leave a legacy for future generations by giving Gift Trees as memorial gifts or to celebrate friends and loved ones. Thanks to our partnership with Friends of Trees and Metro, our Collins Sanctuary is being restored and replanted with hundreds of native trees from the Gift Tree program. For a donation of $35, we will plant a young native tree in honor of a friend and send an acknowledgment card to the person you choose - get a Gift Tree online or at our Nature Store.
Fred Meyer Rewards
Fred Meyer is donating $2.5 million per year to non-profits in Alaska, Idaho, Oregon and Washington, based on where their customers tell them to give. Here’s how the program works:
- Sign up for the Community Rewards program by linking your Fred Meyer Rewards Card to Audubon Society of Portland at fredmeyer.com/communityrewards. You can search for us by our name or by our non-profit number, 91071.
- Then, every time you shop and use your Rewards Card, you are helping Audubon earn a donation!
- You still earn your Rewards Points, Fuel Points, and Rebates, just as you do today.
- If you do not have a Rewards Card, they are available at the Customer Service desk of any Fred Meyer store.
Stocks, Bonds and Securities
A financial tool and a great way to support local conservation, gifts of appreciated stocks and mutual funds offer very useful tax advantages. Benefits: Gifts of shares that you’ve held for more than a year are eligible for the same income tax deduction as a gift of cash; the deduction is based on the fair market value of the shares on the day your broker transfers the stock to the Audubon Society of Portland. Also, if the shares donated have increased in value, you avoid the capital gains tax that you would pay when you sell those shares.
By giving shares, you save twice, first by deducting the gift from your income tax, and secondly by avoiding the capital gains tax. And Portland Audubon gets the same value either way. Always consult your financial adviser for assistance in evaluating the tax advantages available to you when making a donation of appreciated securities. To make a stock transfer to the Audubon Society of Portland, your broker will need the following information:
