The northwest is famous for its trees-- big ones and lots of them! Our region is home to a rich variety of tree species. You might be familiar with Oregon’s state tree, the Douglas-fir, but there are many other spectacular trees in our forests that are worth knowing. In this class and in the accompanying field trip, Dr. Ivan Phillipsen will show you how to ID conifers and deciduous trees by their needles/leaves, cones, bark, and flowers. You’ll also learn which trees are associated with specific habitats. The class will focus on trees growing in the Oregon Coast Range, Willamette Valley, and Cascades Range.

Class with Field Trips, limited to 12 participants:  $95 members / $115 non-members (transportation provided)
(Event Type = Adult Class with field trip)

Class-only Option: $14
(Event Type = Adult Class)
