April 27 & 29 | Local author John Rakestraw will teach you to recognize all the common shorebird species by color, shape, and behavior.

April 27 (Thu), 7pm–9pm: Class in Heron Hall
April 29 (Sat), 8am–5pm: Field Trip to Oregon Coast

Unlike the steady trickle of southbound birds in the fall, shorebird migration in the spring is fast and furious, with massive numbers of migrants passing through Oregon on their way to arctic nesting grounds. Local author John Rakestraw will teach you to recognize all the common shorebird species by color, shape, and behavior. On Saturday we will travel to the coast to see these birds in person (transportation provided).

Fee: $95 members / $115 non-members. Field Trip limited to 12 participants/van
Class-Only Option: $14
