Audubon Outings: Free Field Trips
Free bird and flower walks with Portland Audubon volunteers as your guides.

- Wilson's Warbler - Scott Carpenter
Portland Audubon members and the general public are invited to attend our volunteer-led field trips listed to the left. Unless otherwise indicated, there is no need to pre-register. You can just show up, dressed for the weather, at the time and place indicated.
Who can attend?
People with all levels of natural history experience, from beginning to expert, are welcome unless otherwise stated (which is rare!). Our volunteers love to bird watch and love to share their enjoyment and knowledge with others.
Transportation
While
there is no fee for our field trips, we expect participants to carpool
and share costs with the driver. Carpooling is encouraged for
conservation of energy resources and enhanced sociability. Wear your
binoculars so people can identify you, especially when the leader will
not be present.
We advise checking road conditions before any winter trip.
Call 1-800-977-6368 or 503-976-7277.
When do trips take place?
Magpie Trips, which are marked by a Magpie icon, are mostly weekday excursions. All other outings usually take place on the weekend.
