Home to more species of birds than any other country in the world, Colombia is truly a birders’ paradise. Join Dan van den Broek and Colombian bird experts on an exploration of Columbia’s lush cloud forests, wetlands, high mountain plains and its Amazonian foothills In the Cloud forests, species like the Multicolored Tanager, Green-and-Black Fruiteater and Golden-headed Quetzal await us, as does the Toucan Barbet. We’ll venture down the east slope of the Andes to the foothills of the Amazonian Piedmont looking for Deep-blue Flowerpiercer, Golden-fronted Whitestart and Saffron-crowned Tanager. Then it’s back into the Andes to visit the world heritage site of San Agustin. This serene and mystical site is considered to be among the most important archaeological sites in South America, offering superb birding as well: the Spectacled Parrotlet, Blue-browed Tanager and even the Cerulean Warbler can be found here. And of course, we will keep our eyes to the skies for the ever-possible Andean Condor
