Join Audubon Society of Portland on a 5-day tour of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge located in remote and beautiful Southeast Oregon.  Malheur National Wildlife Refuge is a world-class birder's paradise. A variety of habitats, including rim rocks, sagebrush flats, riparian thickets and extensive marshes support a diversity of wildlife. Field birding and natural history are the focus of this exciting five day program. We'll search for Golden Eagles, Black-necked Stilts, White-faced Ibis and Prairie Falcons as well as mammals such as Pronghorn, Coyote and Mule Deer among the wealth of wildlife.

Our program is timed to coincide with peak bird migration and species diversity. Explore the vast refuge and surrounding areas, including the east side of Steen’s Mountain and the Alvord Desert, on daily field excursions led by experienced naturalists from Audubon Society of Portland.  Be prepared for some wondrous sights, chilly nights and lots of birds. The elevation is about 4000 feet, and the snow-capped Steen’s Mountain looms on our horizon the entire time.

Fee: $695 members / $795 non-members

Deposit:  $300 to secure your space

What is included:  All ground transportation from Portland.  Four nights lodging based on double-occupancy, all your meals except dinners, the services of your experienced Audubon Society of Portland leaders.
