Spend the day at Sauvie Island, one of Portland’s birding hotspots as we search the skies and scan the fields for some of the 250 species of birds that can be spotted at this Important Bird Area. We will watch herons build nests at their rookeries, witness Sandhill Cranes dance along the farmlands and spot all kinds of raptors like Bald Eagles, Red Tailed Hawks and Kestrels. After our day of birding and exploring, we will finish the adventure by sipping hot cocoa while sketching and researching some of the animals encountered on the island!
