Baleen whale by Mike Nolan

Join experienced naturalists from Portland Audubon on this 3-day study of the Oregon Coast.  Learn about the incredible forces that formed the coast's rocky headlands that created ideal habitat for a multitude of species. Go in search of Black Oystercatchers, Harlequin Ducks, Bald Eagles and the beautiful Tufted Puffin as you bird the coast with binoculars and spotting scopes. Head out to sea in hopes of spotting the massive Gray Whale and learn about these wonderful creatures at the whale museum in Depoe Bay.  A visit to the Hatfield Marine Science Center and "town time" in Newport will round out our coastal adventure. We’ll spend our nights in the toasty confines of Neskowin Valley School, pouring through field guides to enhance our species lists.
