Come spend the day at Portland’s scenic Mt. Tabor Park to learn how to use a topographical map and compass. We’ll discover the hidden art of field navigation as we learn how to interpret a topographic map and how to use a compass. Learn how to read contour lines, understand map scale and how to orient a map to the surrounding landscape. Combined with compass skills, we will learn some tips and tricks on using your observation skills, awareness and internal compass to help find your way. With treasure map in hand, your team will navigate to hidden treasures and clues on Portland’s only extinct volcano. The search is on!
