Aug. 17: Screech Owls
The care center took in five baby Screech Owls earlier this summer, and the small birds are almost ready to be released back into the wild. They need about one more week to practice their flying and hunting skills in the flight cage located behind the care center.

Larger raptors spend their last weeks in our big off-site flight cages, but we have plenty of room for these petite owls at the care center. They have lots of good perching spots from which to hunt live mice, which are provided at regular intervals by staff and volunteers.
