Our care center has taken in another winged creature, but this time around it’s a mammal! This healthy Silver-haired Bat was woken up from torpor when its sleeping place – a wood pile – was disturbed.

Our care center has taken in another winged creature, but this time around it’s a mammal! This healthy Silver-haired Bat was woken up from torpor when its sleeping place – a wood pile – was disturbed.
It's another reminder that even small actions like yard work can impact the welfare of wildlife. Thankfully, we’ll be able to release this little guy the next time a clear, mild night rolls around.
