Baby finches in the WCC, May 2012 - Tinsley Hunsdorfer

Two healthy House Finches were recently brought to the care center after falling out of their nest. When the birds first arrived, they were so young that staff were unable to identify their species.

They will be raised here and then released at an appropriate age. Currently, the birds require hourly feedings, so a big thank you to the Audubon volunteers who keep the always-hungry babies fed.
