50 Hikes with Kids

Join us Sunday August 19th for a special Kid’s Story Time, featuring author Wendy Gorton! Wendy will be reading selections from her newest book, 50 Hikes with Kids: Oregon and Washington, as well as leading a nature related activity. 50 Hikes with Kids includes all of the essential trail details you will need for your local family hikes: directions, maps, photos, and fun things so see along the trail. Not only is 50 Hikes with Kids a great outdoor guide book, it also helps nurture a lifelong application and reverence for the natural world.

Wendy Gorton is a global education consultant who has traveled to more than fifty countries to design educational programs, build communities, and trail other educators. She holds a master’s degree in learning technologies and lives in Portland, Oregon, right by Powell’s Books, one of her greatest troves of inspiration.

Children ages 3-8 (all ages are always welcome) and their adults are encouraged to drop by! If you have any questions, please call the Nature Store at 503-292-9453.
