Young Barn Owls Released at Sokol Blosser Winery

Yesterday evening, we released three young Barn Owls at Sokol Blosser Winery near McMinnville, Ore. The site is a great fit for all involved: The winery and its surrounding woodlands and fields provide good Barn Owl habitat, and the winery’s owners are happy to have a source of natural rodent control in the area.

The three owls arrived at the Wildlife Care Center this spring as orphans, and after spending a few months growing rapidly and learning to hunt, they were ready to return to the wild. Best of luck to them!
