Audubon Birding Day: Lower Columbia Estuary with Brodie Cass Talbott *FULL*

Join Brodie for a trip to the Lower Columbia Estuary, where temperate year-round weather and abundant water make habitat for thousands of wintering waterfowl, raptors, and songbirds. We’ll first explore the Brownsmead area enjoying large numbers of waterfowl and winter raptors. We’ll also visit the Big Creek Fish Hatchery looking for kingfishers and dippers, as well as Svensen Island and the Twilight Eagle Sanctuary, time permitting.

This trip will feature 1-2 miles of total hiking, mostly along flat gravel roads and unpaved forest trails. Formal bathrooms will be limited. The weather will likely be cold with a chance of rain, so please come prepared with adequate weather gear, as well as food and water.

Participants will drive themselves.

Trip limited to 10 participants.
