Bird Alliance of Oregon Birding Day: Lincoln County Coastal Hotspots with Brodie Cass Talbott

Winter along the Oregon Coast can be a great time to find uncommon visitors to the state. We’ll start the day at Salishan, watching for waterfowl and listening for songbirds waking up, before making our way to Boiler Bay to look for loons, grebes, and alcids, including the uncommon Ancient Murrelet. We’ll finish our day at Newport, searching for Brant, Bonaparte’s Gull, Long-tailed Duck, and wintering shorebirds.

Bring lunch and dress for the weather. This day trip is drive yourself. We’ll meet near Salishan Coastal Lodge in Gleneden Beach (2 hr, 15 min drive from Portland). More details of the meeting location will be sent by the leader.

Trip limited to 10 participants.
