Archery & Wilderness Skills *FULL*

Learn the art of archery and wilderness skills with Portland Audubon’s expert staff. Learn the skill of shooting a bow and spend part of each day learning skills that are based on the essential concepts of shelter, water, fire and food. Learn nature awareness techniques, debris hut construction, animal tracking and staying found. Spend the entire week at Marmot Cabin, a perfect setting to hone the skills you learn throughout the week. Join us for a week of adventure as we focus on these survival techniques that will guide us through this experiential camp!

Week-long Camp: July 25 – July 29, 8:30/8:45 a.m. – 3:15/3:30 p.m.
Grades: 6-8
Drop off Location:
Grades 6-8 meet at Upper Macleay Park, which neighbors Portland Audubon on Cornell Road to the east.
Type of Camp: Overnighters mainly take place at Marmot Cabin and the Miller Wildlife Sanctuary, outside of Sandy, Oregon. There are two 30 foot yurts and a 3,200 square foot cabin and a 91 acre wildlife sanctuary for us to explore, learn new skills and connect with nature and each other. *Unfortunately, with the rise of the BA.4 and BA.5 strains this summer, we’ve also learned a great deal about the impact of COVID-19 on our campers and our staff, as a result we have made the extremely difficult decision to cancel the Marmot Cabin overnight component of Archery and Wilderness, as well as future camps.
