On Sunday afternoon, authors that are famed for their creativity, as well as their delightful collaborative work, will discuss what it is like to work in partnership with one another, and what are some of the joys and challenges of working with others in collaboration.

Portland’s own Colin Meloy, is the lead singer and songwriter of The Decemberists, and the author of several children’s books. In the Wildwood Trilogy and The Whiz Mob and the Grenadine Kid, he collaborated with his wife, Carson Ellis, a Caldecott Honor Award winner, who provided the illustrations for these books. In 2018, he collaborated with their good friend, Nikki McClure, a renowned papercut artist, on The Golden Thread. Carson and Nikki are both well-known authors of their own books and both have numerous books that they have illustrated for other children book authors.
