Birding by Ear – Shorebirds

Shorebirds have a well-earned reputation as one of the harder groups of birds to identify, but the spectacle of migration and potential for exciting vagrants make them a worthwhile endeavor.

In this class we’ll learn how using your ears can sometimes be even more important than using your eyes, and hone in on what to listen for.

Enroll separately in the companion Field Trip to this class, where you’ll practice your birding by ear in the field at Tualatin River National Wildife Refuge.
