Join Portland Audubon’s Education Team for The Bird Days of Summer, a series of super beginner-friendly programs for anyone curious about birds in nature. We’re combining community-building, exploration, and fun to create safe spaces for people to get to know each other as well as the birds. Binoculars will be provided, and we’ll begin each program with a short “how-to” to help you get started.Register
The Bird Days of Summer Field Trip Details
- Date: August 15, 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
- Pay What You Can: $0-$25 Sliding Scale
About the Sliding Scale
Portland Audubon is excited to begin offering programs on a sliding scale. This will increase access to our programs and allow people of all economic backgrounds to explore their curiosity for the natural world. A sliding scale model will move us towards a more equitable, inclusive, and just community.
In the spirit of community, we ask folks to pay it forward when they can. Your support will fund scholarships, as well as future free and low-cost programs.
Thank you for helping Portland Audubon move towards a more equitable community for nature lovers of all backgrounds!
Brodie Cass Talbott
Brodie works as an educator with Portland Audubon. After many years of wildland firefighting and leading river tours, he spent six years living and teaching across Asia, where his interest in birds became his passion. He has birded across five continents, and uses his experience in education and ecotourism to share his love of the outdoors with people from all ages, backgrounds, and abilities, with an eye towards increasing access to wild spaces for people from diverse communities.
Audrey Tawdry has never met a bird she didn’t love. She has actually asked several birds to marry her and they said yes. One thing Audrey loves as much as seeing a bird is seeing someone else seeing a bird. In her spare time, she runs the kitchen at Guero and writes poetry.
