The Bird Days of Summer: Flower Dyeing in the Forest *FULL*
Try out flower dyeing in this laid back and beginner friendly class. Together we’ll explore the creative possibilities of printing with plants known as “bundle dyeing”.
We will transfer botanical pigments to cloth, creating vibrant prints with nature’s color palette. Experiment with your own combinations on silk and cotton and take home your cool creations. No need to bring your own, pre-treated fabric and supplies will be provided. We will spend our time at the Portland Audubon Sanctuary in Forest Park and may take a quick stroll around the forest to collect fallen foliage.
If you have your own flowers you’d like to use, feel free to bring them along. We will meet at the Portland Audubon Sanctuary in the Jay Conference Room near the Nature Store. Parking is available on site and along Cornell Road.
You can expect bright flowers, wild creativity, and good times!
