Join other bird nerds on this active outing to Oregon’s smallest lighthouse, located at the northern tip of Sauvie Island. As we hike along the river and through a rich, cottonwood forest, we’ll be keeping our ears and eyes open for a wide variety of raptors, waterbirds, woodpeckers and nesting songbirds. Sturdy hiking shoes and plenty of water are a must.
7 miles round trip on dirt trails with little to no elevation change. Pace will be moderate; we’ll stop frequently to observe birds, plants and other wildlife. Trail is part sun, part shade. Restrooms available at parking lot.
