Field Trip: Beginning Birding by Ear at Mt. Tabor with Brodie Cass Talbott *2 spots left*

Early Spring is the time to start honing your ear for birdsong! In this beginner’s field trip, we’ll practice identifying our common local songsters by song and call at Mt. Tabor, one of Portland’s most beloved birding hotspots. Timed for early spring, before most migrants have returned, we’ll listen for Song Sparrow, Spotted Towhee, and Dark-eyed Junco, giving us a great foundation for the arrival of our migrating songbirds in the months to come. While attendance in the Beginning Birding By Ear class series is not required, we will draw heavily from the information covered in those classes.

We will meet at the parking lot next to the visitor’s center. Your trip leader will send out more information in the week leading up to the trip.

Limited to 10 participants.

Masks are optional on this outdoor program.
