How to Identify Birds, Part 2: Habitat & Behavior

Whether at your feeder or visiting a natural area, bird identification can be downright difficult. In this two-part introduction to bird ID we’ll look at the important features to take note of, and the pitfalls to be aware of. Part 2 will focus on how to use information about a bird’s habitat, behavior, and range to help narrow down the list of possible species. These examples will be drawn from our local birds, giving you practical information to take with you in the field.
