Intermediate Birding by Ear: Forests with Brodie Cass Talbott

In this virtual class, we’ll focus on forest bird vocalizations, building upon skills and techniques covered in the Beginning Birding by Ear series. These intermediate classes are the perfect way to sharpen your birding by ear skills! Please register separately for each class.

Birding in our conifer forests can be challenging, with low light, and many birds remaining high in the canopy, so recognizing the vocalizations of our forest denizens is key to knowing what we’ll find. In this class we’ll listen to the calls and songs of common forest birds in the Portland area, like Wilson’s Warbler, Black-headed Grosbeak, and Pacific Wren, and learn some tips for remembering these sounds.
