Explore the wonder of nesting behavior with Portland Audubon field biologist Candace Larson. During this interactive one-hour virtual class, we’ll explore the mechanics and ecology of bird nests and the fascinating diversity of nesting strategies, discuss common backyard nesters in the Portland area and what you can do to provide a hospitable home for our avian friends.

Class Details

      • Class: Monday, April 20, 1 pm-2pm
        A link to the virtual class will be emailed to you several days before the class begins. Please be on the lookout and have Zoom downloaded on your device.
      • Class fee: $20 members / $30 non-members
      • Note: At this time, distance learning classes with Portland Audubon are not available outside of the allotted time. We will be sure to make our most popular distance learning sessions available again. Thank you!

 

Meet the Instructor

Candace Larson

Candace is an avid birder, mycology geek, and native plant enthusiast, with a passion for the diverse ecosystems of the Pacific Northwest. Candace leads domestic and international ecotours with a focus on bird biology and habitat preservation. She also works as a Field Biologist in Portland Audubon’s Conservation program, helping statewide partners meet their avian conservation goals.
