Birding Oregon Hotspots: Cannon Beach/Seaside Area

Best known as tourist destinations, the towns of Cannon Beach and Seaside have some excellent birding sites. This class uses photos and satellite images to introduce you to the best birding sites in the area. We will highlight the bird species that you can expect at each site, provide directions to help you get there, and recommend the best times of year to visit.

Meet the Instructor

John Rakestraw

Born and raised in Indiana, John worked as a naturalist in Kansas and Ohio before settling in Oregon. He is freelance writer, author of Birding Oregon, and leads classes and workshops.
