Casual Birding with Faraaz Abdool

Birds bring a much-needed calmness and stillness to us. The more attention we give to them, the more they tell us – about the world we live in as well as about who we are. Birds can connect us with the natural world on a fundamental level, allowing us to gain a better understanding of what it means to be a human being. The crucial technicality is to go birding without making the experience revolve around the birder. This is the foundation of “casual birding” – a practice that centers on being ethical, attentive, inclusive, kind, and present. Both novice and experienced birders can benefit from this methodology.

Casual birding has many monikers but words are inherently limiting and it must be something enacted to truthfully be grasped. Join us as we discuss the intricacies of this simple, profound, yet tremendously effective practice that can be done by anyone, anywhere. Read more on Casual Birding by Faraaz.
