Cancelled – Central Oregon Birding

Central Oregon Birding has been cancelled due to COVID19.

Enjoy the late spring in beautiful Central Oregon looking for local specialties! The weather should be sunny and warm, but there can still be the odd rainy or cool day.

We will be working the different habitats of the area including sagebrush, shrub steppe, pine woodlands and wetlands in search of White-headed, Three-toed and Black-backed Woodpecker, Williamson’s Sapsucker, Pinyon Jay, and Green-tailed Towhee.

We will take one day trip to the Sisters area and another one to Cabin Lake and Ft. Rock. We’ll make a lot of stops on the way over from Portland and back, taking different routes. Santiam Pass will be the high point of our trip.

  • Trip Leader: Stefan Schlick
  • Fee: $900 members / $1050 non-members
  • Deposit: $500 required to secure your place
  • Single supplement: $225
  • Group size: Limited to 10 participantsTrip fees include all ground transportation, double-occupancy lodging, breakfast/lunch/non-alcoholic beverages/snacks, tips for meals/drivers/porters/local guides, trip materials, entrance fees, excursions, and the services of your skilled leader(s). 

    Trip fees do not include airfares, dinners, and alcoholic beverages.

Stefan is a birding expert, and has birded in Europe and North America extensively. After living in Wisconsin, Florida, California, and Washington, Stefan has settled in Oregon where he currently is a member of the Oregon Bird Records Committee. Stefan is enthusiastic about sharing his knowledge and love of birds with the folks on his trips.
