Flycatcher Identification with John Rakestraw

Join instructor John Rakestraw just in time for the beginning of spring migration! With migrant flycatchers back in town, this identification class will give you lots of tips on identifying this difficult family of birds. Whether you are perfecting your Empidonax identification skills or learning the difference between a Western Wood-Pewee and a Black Phoebe, this class will serve both beginner and more advanced birders well.

This two-part series focuses on a group of birds notorious for giving birdwatchers a stiff neck and bewildered stare. Local author and guide John Rakestraw will show you how to identify these birds by sight and sound as well as posture and performance. Please register seperately for each class.
