Ever wondered how you would feed yourself if there were no supermarkets? Curious about how people mimic the intricate patterns of nature to grow crops without chemicals? Hop on board as we explore the connections between farming and the wilderness.
Spend time at Audubon, exploring our forest filled with wildlife and many safe, edible delights. Make butter from milk and dyes from native plants. We’ll visit local natural areas and farms to learn how people are acting as stewards of the land while growing healthy foods for their communities.
Week-long Camp: July 18 – July 22, 8:30/8:45 a.m. – 3:15/3:30 p.m. Grades: 3-5
Drop off Location: Grades 3-5 meet at Upper Macleay Park, which neighbors Portland Audubon on Cornell Road to the east. Type of Camp: On the Go Camps are day camps that travel by van or bus to learn about some of the beautiful parks, greenspaces and forests that are in and surround Portland.
