Harney County After Dark: Virtual Bat Walk

Most visitors to the Harney Basin think about the basin as an oasis for birds. With over 300 species of birds, this is no surprise. However, the diverse habitats that make the Harney Basin an ideal home for diverse bird species also make it ideal for migrating and breeding bats.

Did you know 14 of Oregon’s 15 bat species are found at Malheur National Wildlife Refuge? Learn more about the bats of the Harney Basin and bat conservation, during this virtual bat walk. This walk will be along the Harney Wildlife Parkway, in Burns/Hines.

Presentation starts at 2 p.m. Virtual bat walk starts at 2:30 and will last about 45 minutes, with 15 minutes for Q&A.
