Offshore Wind Energy Planning in Oregon, an educational webinar

As Oregon begins offshore wind energy planning off our coast with the goal of transitioning toward cleaner, renewable energy sources, there will be important natural and community values to consider. To help everyone learn more about the public process for siting future offshore wind facilities, the Oregon Bird Alliance of Oregon Council (OAC) will host an educational webinar.

Bird Alliance of Oregon Staff Scientist, Joe Liebezeit, and Coastal chapter leaders Ann Vileisis and Harv Schubothe will kick off the event with a brief introductory presentation.  Andy Lanier (Marine Affairs Coordinator) from Oregon’s Department of Land, Conservation and Development (DLCD), Whitney Hauer (Renewable Energy Specialist), and David Pereksta (Avian Biologist) from the federal Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) will follow with presentations detailing the wind energy planning process in Oregon. After the talks, there will be a moderated Q & A session.
