Raptors in Flight – *FULL*

September signals the start of one of the most fascinating visible migration spectacles in the country: southbound raptor flights. Trained hawkwatchers around the country carefully tally this two-month parade of various raptor species, while amateurs watch with amazement at the experts’ ability to ID distant specks down to species, and often age and sex. How do they do it? In this class we’ll break down ID’ing raptors by silhouette and flight style, giving you the opportunity to hone your skills, whether its for your favorite Hawkwatch location or enjoying raptors from your backyard.
