Raptors in Winter

Join Brodie Cass Talbott for an exploration of the raptors that visit the Portland area in winter. In the classroom segment we will explore the natural history of hawks, eagles, falcons, and harriers, along with tips for finding and identifying these aerial predators. A field trip the following Saturday will visit raptor hotspots around Sauvie Island, allowing the student to practice their new identification skills in the field.

Field Trip Notes: We will be meeting at the Gillihan Road Park & Ride at 8 am, and will travel together by van from there. Bus service is available every half hour (trimet.org). Participants wanting to meet at Bird Alliance of Oregon at 730 can email Brodie directly at bcasstalbott@birdallianceoregon.org. Please make sure to bring enough layers and rain protection to be comfortable throughout.
