Sod House Ranch Stewardship Weekend
Help prepare Malheur National Wildlife Refuge’s Sod House Ranch visitor area for season opening. Maintain trails, clear vegetation, set up historic displays, and work on other restoration projects. Gloves provided. There are some projects, including setting up the historic displays, that do not require heavy-lifting or walking on uneven surfaces. Camping provided at Sod House Ranch. Camping gear available for participants to borrow for the weekend.
This is one of three Stewardship Parties: These multi-day events are for folks who want to get their hands dirty. Join Bird Alliance of Oregon and local partners in restoring wildlife habitat in Harney County (and of course doing some great bird watching!). Here is a general itinerary for a stewardship weekend.
