Sod House Ranch Work Party at Malheur
Join Portland Audubon and the Friends of Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in some much needed work at Sod House Ranch. Sod House Ranch, located about 1 mile from Refuge headquarters, is the historic northernmost headquarters of the French-Glen Cattle Empire. This work party will focus on re-graveling the interpretive trail at the ranch, and replacing or repairing interpretive signs/posts.
We will also be focused on clean-up and preparations for the visitor season, surveying and cataloging buildings and fences to create an inventory of needed repairs, and possibly some vegetation management (e.g. planting cottonwoods). Participants will have the opportunity to camp at Sod House Ranch from August 9-11.
