Field Trip: Swallows of Sauvie Island with Brodie Cass Talbott *FULL*
On this self-driving exploration, we’ll cover a variety of habitats to search out as many of our seven swallow species as we can, building on our identification skills we covered in the companion class.
We will meet at the Warrior Point trailhead at 8:00 a.m. and start with a hike looking for Bank Swallows, one of our hardest-to-find species locally. For the rest of the morning we’ll explore the other hotspots on the island including the viewing platform and Racoon Point. We’ll finish up our day at noon on the westside of the island. An ODFW Parking Permit will be required for this trip.
