Watercolor Painting with Ronna: The Sandhill Crane

Birds are an excellent source of inspiration and a joy to paint in watercolor. Join this live, online class to paint alongside Ronna Fujisawa, an experienced watercolor painter, art educator, and bird enthusiast.
This Valentine’s Day, we’ll celebrate by painting these magnificent birds who mate for life! This class will focus on the Sandhill Crane, as we observe this elegant bird in a courtship dance. We will be be painting the Sandhill Crane in watercolor as they flaunt their exquisite dance moves. Through painting this portrait, we will pay mindful attention to the various gray plumage, often stained my rusty oxides in the water, a red head and bright yellow eyes.
Seeing the Sandhill Crane in a wet grassy meadow or shallow marshland can bring feelings of inspiration to paint such a magnificent and exuberant creature. There is nothing like witnessing the courtship dance of the these tall and beautiful birds. Ronna Fujisawa of Salty Water Art will lead you on a watercolor journey in this fun and interactive zoom bird watercolor dance. In this class, students will learn how to paint reflections in water.
