Field Trip: Beginning Waterfowl ID at Fernhill Wetlands with Brodie Cass Talbott

Visit one of the Portland area’s premiere wetlands to work on the basics of waterfowl ID. We’ll work with what we learned in the accompanying digital class and put that into practice, working as a team to identify the many ducks and geese that overwinter here. Along the way, we’ll keep an eye out for sparrows, lingering shorebirds, and raptors.

This field trip will focus on beginning ID, with a trip focusing on the more advanced aspects of waterfowl the following week.
