Winter Raptors of the Willamette Valley

Winter brings a fresh cast of raptors to the Willamette Valley as our fair-weather friends are replaced by northern breeders. This class will focus on our unique wintering raptors, comparing and contrasting them to our more common and year-round birds of prey. We’ll also dig into their identification and give you the tools you need to enjoy finding raptors on your own.

Join Brodie on an Audubon Birding Day to take what you’ve learned in this class and practice it in the field:

Audubon Birding Day: Beginning Winter Raptors at Sauvie Island
January 12, 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Audubon Birding Day: Advanced Winter Raptors in Polk County
January 20, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
