Spend your morning at Topaz Farms with Bird Alliance of Oregon staff member Kady Davis and Board Member Ricky Allen for a community birdwatching event, as a part of Birdathon, one of our most beloved traditions, bringing people together to raise funds to protect birds while watching birds. P-Ranch River Walk | Malheur National Wildlife Refuge

Join Bird Alliance of Oregon’s Eastern Oregon Biologist, Teresa ‘Bird’ Wicks on a guided bird walk to the stretch of the Blitzen River that extends north from P-Ranch and is a popular stop for many visitors to Malheur NWR. The mix of habitats along the river create abundant opportunities for observing birds and the occasional beaver or other mammal.

Birding Malheur HQ

Join Bird Alliance of Oregon’s Eastern Oregon Biologist, Teresa ‘Bird’ Wicks on this family-friendly bird walk will start at Malheur National Wildlife Headquarters at 8:00 from the parking lot. Children of all ages, and families of all kinds, are invited to come for a casual walk around Malheur National Wildlife Refuge headquarters. There should be baby hawks and owls for viewing.

Benson Pond Bird Walk

Join Bird Alliance of Oregon’s Eastern Oregon Biologist, Teresa ‘Bird’ Wicks for a guided bird walk starting at the Benson Pond Trailhead. We will travel along the northern edge of Benson Pond, through the stand of homestead era trees and back to the parking area. The diversity of aquatic habitat, emergent marsh, sagebrush/shrubland, and deciduous trees provides for a diverse assortment of bird species. This walk provides a great opportunity for observing ducks in non-breeding plumage and practicing duck ID.
